Forsivo

Practice management that understands estate planning.

Most legal software stops when the trust is signed. Forsivo is built for what happens next — the funding, the retitling, and the paperwork that decides whether the plan actually works.

Currently in limited release with a small number of firms.

The estate funding tracker for a matter: 6 of 11 assets funded, 1 excluded, 2 awaiting review, 55% complete, $2,047,300 funded of $3,421,200 recorded, with two advisor-reported assets pending acceptance.
Estate funding for a matter — every asset, its method, its status, and what is overdue.

An unfunded trust is just an expensive stack of paper.

Every estate planner knows the failure. The trust is drafted, signed, notarized and delivered in a binder. Then the accounts are never retitled, the deed is never recorded, the beneficiary form is never returned — and years later the family is in probate anyway.

Funding is the single most common malpractice exposure in estate planning, and in generic practice management software it is invisible: a matter, a notes field, and a hope that someone remembers. Forsivo treats funding as first-class work — every asset, its funding method, its current status, who is waiting on what, and which follow-up dates have passed.

It generates the instruments that actually move each asset: deeds across seven vesting scenarios, general assignments, stock and LLC and partnership transfers, Schedules A, B and C, beneficiary designation letters, institution retitle letters, and a written funding action plan for the client.

11 asset categories tracked per matter, each with its own funding method
41 funding templates — deeds, assignments, schedules, retitle letters
36 Oregon counties known to the deed generator, with ORS statutory forms
3 asset states — funded, excluded, awaiting review — never just "done"

It refuses the wrong answer.

A qualified retirement account can only be funded by beneficiary designation. Retitling an IRA into a trust is a full taxable distribution — so Forsivo will not offer to do it.

A tool that lets you pick the wrong option is worse than one with no opinion, because the wrong choice looks endorsed.

Advisors submit. Staff accept.

Financial advisors can report assets without ever becoming portal users. What they send is a claim, not a fact: it counts toward nothing and reaches no generated document until someone at the firm accepts it.

Assets the client reported. They count toward nothing and reach no generated document until you accept them.

— from the Estate Funding screen

From questionnaire to executed instrument.

Guided intake for trusts and wills, with autosave. Ten drafting templates — Oregon married-joint, married-separate and single trusts; wills; certifications of trust; fiduciary documents — assembled onto the firm's own letterhead.

A visual plan diagram is generated from the same answers, so the client can see who is in charge and who receives what. Version history and e-signature live in the matter, not in another tab.

Document templates and the deed generator are Oregon-only today.

The Documents tab of a matter: the engagement letter, a beneficiary designation request to TIAA, an institution retitle letter to Charles Schwab, the funding action plan, a general assignment of personal property, and a warranty deed awaiting signature.

Eight stages, Consult through Funding — the last one is the one everyone else leaves out.

Your brand, not ours.

Clients sign in with a secure link sent to their email — no password to forget, reuse, or write on a sticky note. The link works once and expires in fifteen minutes.

Inside, they see their matters, documents, invoices, appointments, tasks and messages — in your firm's colours. One client can belong to several firms, and the accent is what tells them whose file they are looking at.

They can sign documents, pay an invoice, and message the people working on their matter. Everything they do is written to the same audit trail as everything the firm does.

Client portal sign-in

A client of a firm using Forsivo? That's your door. Not sure whether an email you received is genuinely from your firm? Here's how to check.

The client portal sign-in card: Client Portal — access your legal matters securely. An email address field, an “Email me a secure sign-in link” button, and the note that the link works once and expires after 15 minutes.
No password needed.
A secure message thread: the attorney reports that the warranty deed was recorded with Deschutes County on 28 July, and the client replies that they are ready to sign the Sunriver deed and that their advisor found a credit union savings account they had forgotten.
Secure messaging, inside the matter.

Estate planning is the depth. This is the floor.

The practice-area work sits on a general practice management system — the unglamorous parts a firm actually runs on, built to the same standard.

Named controls, not adjectives.

Tenant isolation in the database

Multi-tenant with PostgreSQL row-level security keyed per firm — enforced below the application, not by remembering to add a WHERE clause.

Field-level encryption

Social Security numbers, tax identifiers and bank details are encrypted per-field via AWS KMS.

Append-only audit log

The database physically refuses updates and deletions to audit records. What happened stays what happened.

Ethical walls

Matter-level screening returns a 404, never a 403 — a screened matter is invisible, not merely forbidden.

These are the controls the system implements. Forsivo holds no third-party security certification, and we would rather name what we do than imply an audit we have not had.

The first practice area, not the last.

Estate planning is built to this depth because it had to be first. The architecture treats a practice area as a configuration rather than a module, so probate, trust administration and family law come next on the same foundation.

They are not available today, and we are not going to pretend otherwise while you are deciding whether to trust us with a client file.

We're onboarding a small number of firms.

Forsivo is in limited release. We are looking for estate planning attorneys who will tell us plainly where it falls short — not for volume.

There is no form here and nothing to sign up for — a person reads what you send and a person replies. Tell us where you practise and how you handle trust funding today; that is most of what we need to know.
